From Bardhaman and Birbhum in West Bengal, the palm leaves, grass and seeds earrings is made by the indigenous people who eke out a living there. The leaves are collected and dried before the extremely laborious process of tearing them into long strips and weaving them into the most beautiful jewellery designed by them is done. The seeds are mostly collected from the forest floor and woven into the jewellery itself. The method is painstaking and difficult for their fingers and palms are repeatedly cut due to the sharp edges of the palm leaves
